Pick your vibe.
The palette button at the top of every page restyles the whole site, from Apple’s Think Different posters to a Mars colony. Tap one to try it right here. Each has its own link to share, with its own preview picture.
🍎Apple
Apple.com’s clean look and type, and a Think Different poster of one of the crazy ones each time you switch it on.

80sThe ’80s

🐫Mongolia
The steppe where I served in the Peace Corps: a ger with smoke rising, a camel and a motorcycle.

A baseplate, brick clouds, chunky lettering and a minifig.

🚀Mars
Red dunes, a domed colony under two moons, a Starship that launches and lands, and a Cybertruck.

✨Fireflies
A summer night: a quiet meadow, a treeline, and a few soft lights blinking.

Day and night
The menu also has Day and Night. On its own the site follows your clock: it turns dark at 7pm and light again at 7am. Pick Day or Night and it stays that way until the next 7 comes around.
Your vibe stays with you as you move around the site, until you pick another. Any page works as a link, too: add ?mode=mars (or any vibe) to the end of an address, and whoever opens it sees that page in that vibe, just for that visit.
Now go explore: the essays, everything free on the site, or my movie wall in the ’80s.
