Travis Hellstrom’s Mongolia Peace Corps Experience and Journey
From 2008 to 2011, Travis Hellstrom served as a Health Volunteer in Mongolia, extending his mission into a third year as a Peace Corps Volunteer Leader and working with the World Health Organization in Ulaanbaatar. His service focused on health initiatives, representing a deep commitment to helping others.
One of the defining moments of his service was meeting his wife, Tunga, at the Health Department—a unique love story transcending language barriers. This personal connection remains his favorite Peace Corps memory.
Travis also shares lighter, more humorous moments from his experience, like the mishap where a broken pipe flooded his bathroom, stories he recounts in his book, Enough.
After Peace Corps, Travis helped launch the first B-Corp in Mongolia, blending business with social impact. Reflecting on his time in Mongolia, he emphasizes that helping others is not just a profession but a daily choice—something that shapes his work and life philosophy today.
His passions include happiness, simplicity, love, authenticity, and optimism, which he actively spreads through his work and storytelling.
