Interview with Chase Adam, Founder of Watsi

by Travis Hellstrom

This week I have the pleasure of introducing you to an everyday humanitarian named Chase who is doing amazing things and having a huge impact on people all around the world.

Chase is the founder of Watsi.org, an amazing website that he calls "a Kiva for health care."

I had the pleasure of talking with Chase a few months ago (before he was featured in the New York Times!) and he was kind enough to sit down with me for a 10-minute interview which I want to share with you here. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

In the interview you will hear about:

  • The inspiring story that started Watsi
  • Serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Costa Rica
  • Being the first nonprofit to be funded by the Y Combinator
  • Increasing transparency in the nonprofit world
  • Big plans for Watsi's future

You can listen to me and Chase Adam (about 10 min) here:

Chase also spoke earlier this month at Y Combinator's Startup School. You can watch that here.
